Families visiting NT Tyntesfield, near Bristol, can now enjoy a new woodland play area, following a major refurbishment of the popular play trail.
The improved play area has been designed and built by natural play specialists. The project forms part of the National Trust’s ongoing investment in enabling children and families to spend more time outdoors and connecting with nature.
The refreshed woodland play trail aims to encourage exploration of the wider estate.
The play trail is arranged across three areas inspired by the woodland setting.
The Treehouse Area features interconnected platforms linked by ropes, climbing routes and a double-width slide. The Nest Area focuses on climbing and balancing, with log features, a climbing net and play structures designed to encourage confidence and physical activity. The Forest Explorers Area combines active play with quieter spaces, including raised decks, nets, woodland-inspired play features and areas for children to gather, and explore.
