Waterfall and lakes galore as Cantonteign opens for Hospiscare

Canonteign Falls, the stunning natural attraction in the heart of Devon and the highest waterfall in Dartmoor National Park will open for Hospiscare on Saturday 9th September, with peaceful walks among the waterfalls and lakes and family fun in the gardens and playgrounds, 

For garden lovers, the Victorian Fern Garden was awarded Plant Heritage National Collection status in 2022, and is an historic snapshot of the 19th century craze for ferns and fairies. 

Families can explore the adventure playgrounds, with refreshments in the lakeside cafe, and there’s a gift shop. Open 10am-5pm. 20 per cent of admission price will be donated to Hospiscare. Free parking. Wheelchair access is limited – check the website for details. Dogs on short leads allowed. Southey Farm, Sampford Courtenay, Okehampton, EX20 2TE opens for Hospiscare on Saturday 16th September from 9am until 4pm. Highlights include a box maze, a Japanese garden, a cottage garden, a tropical garden and more than 100 different varieties of holly. Admission by donation. There’s parking for around ten cars available in the farmyard. Most of the garden is accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter. Dogs on short leads allowed.
